Description

Find Animal is an exercise where an animal figure appears hidden behind different visual obstructions. The aim is to find and identify the animal. The exercise can be used to practice visual perception skills and the use of the computer’s mouse.

The exercise can be performed with standard settings but you can also change the settings from the “Settings” button. With the standard settings the different animal figures are hidden one at a time behind different visual obstructions. The visual obstructions disappear one by one when you click the mouse on them, or press the spacebar or enter or their corresponding switches.

You can return to the start menu by pressing Esc.

Settings

The settings allow you to choose:

  • the animal figure and its size
  • the location of the figure on the screen
  • the visual obstructions and their density
  • to remove the visual obstructions also by pointing the mouse at them
  • the background color of the figure and the screen
  • to use background sounds

Printable pictures of the animal figures

Printed picture cards of the animal figures can be used as supplementary material to exercises for practicing such skills as making choices and considering answer alternatives or to inspire conversation (e.g. what animal is revealed from behind the leaves? what animal is moving on the screen? what do you see in the picture? which figure would you like to see? etc.)
